WHAT TO DO:
Make pinwheels as a class and sell them to friends and family as a way to raise money for Iraqi children in desperate need of heart surgery. We suggest $5-10.
EXTRA CREDIT: Display your pinwheels on school property to raise awareness of - and funds for - the over three thousand Iraqi kids suffering the ongoing effects of Saddam’s regime.

THE JUSTIFICATION:
The essence of education is a mind opening to new realities and possibilities. But it is more than just learning new facts. True education also helps us understand more deeply how those facts shape our world and what responsibilities and opportunities these facts present to our individual lives.
Pinwheels provides a wonderful opportunity for students in the U.S. to gain awareness of the significant challenges and lost opportunities facing some of their peers in other parts of the world and offers a chance for these students to make a personal and practical contribution to helping save the life of an Iraqi child.
