Summer Internship 2021

Lucia Maltoni

I recently graduated from The University of Manchester in the UK in a BA Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies, where I am also currently undertaking a MS in International Disaster Management. I am passionate about learning new languages and cultures to meet new people from around the world. During my university studies I became passionate about issues of migration, displacement, and war.

I feel honored to be able to take part in Preemptive Love’s mission in ending war and helping people. I feel even more honored to have the possibility to share the knowledge I was able to gather until now and become an English teacher for young Syrian refugees and Internally Displaced People in Sulaymaniyah. I hope to create a fun and safe environment for the students to learn a new language and enjoy themselves while learning. I wish to deepen my skills as a teacher and as a member of a community that has a role and responsibility for peacebuilding.

I fully share Preemptive Love’s values. I hope to help them accomplish great achievements and learn as much as I possibly can from the members of the staff.
